December's Better Than Yesterday Recipient

Each month the EHP coaching staff selects a member that is 'Better Than Yesterday!' The selected recipient is a great example of EHP's CREDO-- demonstrating compassion, resilience, perseverance and tenacity.

Janine Staples was selected as December's 'Better Than Yesterday' recipient. Janine has made huge strides since joining our Elevate class last year. She is coachable, curious and driven!

Why did you join EHP Performance?

I started Elevate in December of 2019 because I saw the NYNRC and thought I'd try out the format to see if I liked it. Fast forward to August of 2020 and I was ready to transition to CrossFit!

Why do you continue CrossFit? I continue CrossFit because I enjoy the workouts and I feel like I am getting stronger each week. I love that there are monthly challenges to keep things interesting, and I also have learned so much about nutrition and performance from the BTC and BTC Reboot. Before joining this gym I always wondered "what if" and now I know and continue to push myself to be better than yesterday. Most importantly, I continue coming to EHP because of the community. I am a better athlete because of the people I workout with and the knowledge of the coaching staff.

What has been your greatest achievement since joining EHP Performance? My greatest achievement is hard to choose! I feel like I have achieved many things over the past year. I am most proud of deciding to switch to CrossFit. I feel like that was a good fitness move for me. I ran my fastest 5k ever in September and can do a couple of unassisted kipping pull ups.

How has your life changed since joining EHP?  My life has changed a lot since joining EHP. First of all, I never used to get up early in the morning to work out and now I'm at the 5:30am class almost every morning. I have made many new friends and love that I am part of the EHP community. I am excited to see what happens in the next year for me and my fitness goals.

Janine has grown so much as an athlete in her last year with us. We have enjoyed watching Janine's confidence blossom, which ultimately allows her to step outside of her comfort zone and broaden her mental and physical capabilities. Janine accepts feedback and instantly applies it to her skills.

Keep up the great work Janine. We know 2021 will be your best year yet!
