For immediate release — EHP Performance, formerly EHP Crossfit in Moorhead, MN, has opened their doors to new members as a Medical Fitness Facility.

Becoming a Medical Fitness Facility has been a long time goal of owner Karla Wolford.

What’s the difference between a gym and Medical Fitness Facility? EHP Performance prescribes exercise and a healthy lifestyle modifications to achieve optimal health instead of prescription drugs and medications.

The team at EHP Performance includes Medical Director, a Clinic Director, Mental health professionals, Nutrition Coaches, Prenatal/Pregnant/Postpartum coaches, Exercise Physiologists, USA Weightlifting coaches, CrossFit Trainers, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists, Endurance Coaches, Sports Psychology Coaches and much more.

The Medical Facility itself is overseen by a medical board. The Clinic Director meets with athletes/members (traditional Western Medicine would call them ‘patients’) and they undergo a sports physical, in depth history, baseline screening that consists of vitals, a functional movement screen, fitness assessment, mental health screening, as well as body composition testing and evaluation.

Athletes meet with their designated health coach quarterly to discuss their progress. Their exercise prescriptions are based on the American College of Sports Medicine Guidelines (ACSM Guidelines) and will be followed by EHP Certified Staff members. Referrals to other provider members of the board may be made at any given time when deemed appropriate.

Karla Wolford, owner of EHP Performance, will serve as the Clinic Director. Wolford has a Masters of Sports Science & Rehabilitation and is a Doctor of Chiropractic, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician in addition to several additional fitness credentials she has to serve her athlete/members.

Wolford is excited for the change as it has been on her mind since Chiropractic school. “This was my original business plan from graduate school. So I’m happy I’m finally executing on it.” Her gym, along others across the country, were previously shut down in early 2020. “I know what happened to my members the last time they lost their stress outlet and I wasn’t going to let that happen again. I had to do something.”

EHP Performance is the only Medical Fitness Facility in Fargo/Moorhead and one of the first in the upper Midwest. EHP Performance stands for ‘Elevate Human Potential’ and their mission is to empower their members to work hard and transform themselves to live a healthier lifestyle by joining a community that will help them be better than yesterday.

EHP Performance is located at 1400 25th St S, Moorhead, MN 56560. Questions can be directed to Karla Wolford at ehpperformance@gmail.com or by calling (218) 512-0515.
