January's 'Better Than Yesterday' Recipient.

Each month the EHP coaching staff will select a member that is 'Better Than Yesterday!' The selected recipient demonstrates compassion, resilience, perseverance and tenacity.


Why did you start CrossFit?

I started CrossFit in March of 2018 after hearing about the Row-A-Thon.

Why do you continue CrossFit?

I continue CrossFit because I learn so much about myself during the workouts that I don't think I'd learn any where else. Also, we have some of the most accepting and friendly people at EHP - no one cares that I'm weird or shy - and that's nice!

What has been your greatest achievement since joining EHP?

There has been so many! I used to be afraid of deadlifting, but now I can deadlift 205# easily. I've never done a handstand prior to CrossFit. I can occasionally run a 5k!

How has your life changed since joining CrossFit?

Obviously I'm stronger, but the mental stuff is what matters more to me. I'm noticeable more confident and assertive. I care less about how others see me. I am also way more patient (I answered these questions while my 2 year old was jumping on me)! :)

Jen was selected as January's 'Better Than Yesterday' recipient because she constantly works on progression- she is consistently performing movements (and weights) that she couldn't do a year ago. As a busy mom and wife, Jen still finds time for CrossFit and yoga. Jen is doing a remarkable job at everything in and out of the gym, which has allowed us to see more of her great personality.
