March's Better Than Yesterday Recipient

Each month the EHP coaching staff selects a member that is 'Better Than Yesterday!' The selected recipient is a great example of EHP's CREDO-- demonstrating compassion, resilience, perseverance and tenacity.

Callie Navarathne

Callie Navatathne was selected as March's 'Better Than Yesterday' recipient.

Why did you start Elevate/CrossFit?

I started CrossFit because my cousin, Hope, had done a few workouts and said I should come check it out because it would be right up my alley. Boy oh boy, was she right on the money!

Why do you continue CrossFit?   I continue Crossfit because I truly love this place! I don't know where else I would be able to get a kick-ass workout and hang out with some of the best people I've ever known. I love how I am always challenged and inspired to do things I never dreamed I'd be able to do (or want to do - ha!). Also, it's the most effective way I've found to keep my sanity at a manageable level 😅

What has been your greatest achievement since joining EHP Performance? I can drink a gallon of water in half a day without peeing every 5 minutes. Ha! But seriously, I think my greatest achievement has been that I keep showing up after 6+ years - even when I really am not in the mood - and that my mindset has shifted from workouts being a punishment to being something I genuinely enjoy.

How has your life changed since joining EHP Performance? My life has changed in a million little ways that all add up to me being in the best physical, mental, and emotional shape of my life. I can really tell in those little decisive moments when it comes down to making the choice of this or that. I'm making different choices than I would have otherwise made or have made in the past, and EHP has everything to do with that!

Callie is one of EHP's original members, she joined in December of 2014! Callie has a very bright and energetic personality, which often finds her disrupting class by talking. :) When Callie sets her mind to something, she is a forced to be reckoned with! She recently tackled 75 Days Hard in conjunction with training for EHP's OneTon challenge.

As a local teacher/librarian, Callie always finds the time to make it to EHP. Typically attending the 5:15am before her school day. Callie has always been friendly, helpful and encouraging to those she meets. Over the years, she has become mentally and physically stronger too!

Congratulations, Callie! We enjoy your bright personality within the walls of EHP.
