Wisdom Wednesday: Proper Thoracic Extension

Did you know that your thoracic spine is the most rigid part of your spine? There are many reasons this is true. Your have ribs that attach here which makes it more rigid because they are protecting some of your vital organs... your heart and lungs.


Often times, people are sitting at a desk for hours on end and their thoracic spine becomes even more rigid. If this happens and you are trying to perform Olympic lifts you could be putting your shoulders at risk for injury.
